Editorial policy
Our standards for research, authorship, prices, corrections, and commercial relationships.
Updated October 4, 2026.
Useful, original reporting
We choose topics for their usefulness to readers. A destination does not need to be new or little known. Our work must be original, grounded in sources, and clear about the tradeoffs involved.
Sources and changing facts
We favor primary sources and link to the sources behind each guide. Travel rules, access, opening hours, and prices can change. Source-check dates describe when information was researched; they do not promise live availability.
Illustrative budgets state their assumptions. A modeled hotel allowance is not a quoted room rate. Currency conversions state their basis. Readers should check the operator's current terms before paying.
Authorship and review
We do not present researched articles as personal trips. We do not invent experience or interviews. Clara Bennett and Miles Hart are transparently disclosed editorial pen names for the publication’s two writing desks, not claimed identities of individual travelers. Research, drafting, and source checks use software assistance. Away View makes publication decisions and maintains the articles; a byline does not imply firsthand experience or an independent expert review.
What a guide must answer
Cost guides separate published prices from estimates. Comparisons name the options and explain who each suits. Itineraries name usable stops rather than leaving the main day for the reader to research. If we cannot support a price or claim, we narrow the guide's scope instead of inventing it.
Keeping guides useful
We record source evidence and review dates, with shorter review intervals for advisories and changing fees. These records support maintenance; they do not make an article a live alert service. Related guides are selected for their relevance to the reader's next decision.
Commercial relationships
This edition contains no affiliate links, display advertisements, or paid placements. Future paid relationships must be disclosed where they affect an article.
Corrections
We correct material errors and update the article's modification date. Send the article URL and the information requiring correction through our contact page.
