Flying New York to Paris? Choose the airports that suit your trip

Your Paris trip starts before the flight and continues after landing. A fare that looks appealing can come with an awkward journey to the New York airport or another change of trains on the way to your hotel. Compare the whole arrival day, not just the two cities on the ticket.

Begin with JFK–CDG, Newark–CDG, and Newark–Orly, then match each pair to your starting address and Paris accommodation. Eligible airport rail or metro journeys in Paris currently cost **about import [object Object] from ‘../../lib/photography’;

6 per person each way**; flight schedules and fare inclusions still depend on the date you book.

Which airport pairs have published service?

Air France’s announcement describes summer CDG service split between JFK and Newark. It establishes those airport pairs, not identical frequencies on every later date. French bee’s page identifies Orly and Newark for direct service.

Use these airport pairs as a starting shortlist, then inspect the operating carrier and complete itinerary for your date.

JFK or Newark from Manhattan?

JFK’s AirTrain guidance describes connections through Jamaica and Howard Beach. Your Manhattan rail or subway journey and the terminal connection are distinct parts of the trip.

Newark’s AirTrain guidance explains its connection to Newark Liberty International Airport rail station. That is different from Newark Penn Station and New York Penn Station.

Our recommendation is to compare actual connections from your neighborhood. Starting in New Jersey may favor Newark; another address may favor JFK. Favor the connection that works from your address at the scheduled departure time.

Include every leg of the New York journey in your total, including airport access where charged. Add any parking or overnight accommodation required by the schedule.

CDG or Orly for your hotel?

CDG connects by RER B, while Orly connects by Metro 14, among other options. The Île-de-France Mobilités airport ticket has a 2026 full-price equivalent of about $16.

It supports eligible rail/metro connections on a smartphone or Navigo Easy; buses and trams are not covered by that ticket. Use the actual station near the hotel to evaluate the connection, luggage, and accessibility.

The same full-price airport ticket means neither airport automatically wins on this fare alone. A direct line to the accommodation can matter more than an airport’s distance from an unspecified city-center point.

A priced airport-transfer example

Two adults each taking one eligible airport rail/metro journey on arrival and one on departure require four tickets. At the dated exchange rate, the total is approximately $63, before any required ticket-medium cost. This is a calculation from the published ticket, not a taxi or private-transfer quote.

Dollar equivalents use the October 2, 2026 Central Bank of Malta rate, rounded for planning. The operator charges in local currency; card rates and fees can differ. Reduced-fare eligibility must be established separately.

Compare flights on equal terms

Choose identical dates, traveler counts, and luggage needs. A nonstop and a connecting itinerary buy different travel time. Record both directions’ bags and necessary seats, change terms, airport travel, and arrival dates.

An overnight New York departure can arrive in Paris the next calendar day. Match that date with the hotel reservation rather than reserving a room from the date shown on the departure boarding pass.

Compare complete round-trip checkout prices for your dates and required inclusions, rather than an advertised “from” fare. Our Frontier–Spirit baggage comparison shows why size limits and bundles affect a total; it does not claim either carrier operates these transatlantic routes.

Protect the first Paris day

Begin with hotel location and usable arrival time, then choose the airport pair whose complete journey fits. A lower ticket price can be worthwhile, but evaluate the additional changes or connection alongside it.

Keep arrival day flexible for immigration, baggage, and transport. For a different European city break, our three-day Dublin plan offers named sightseeing days and a separately priced transit choice.
